Heyy welcome to my blog page 😳😳 This is where I'm gonna talk about genuinely anything I want with no judgement. #judgementFreeZone. I might get kinda personal with some so I'm sorry if I overshare. I literally never talk about the things I want to with most people and I think it would be good for me to have a digital diary of sorts with stuff no one irl cares about. I will try to post something new at least twice a month.

I plan on doing personal stuff like gerneral problems I'm having, stuff I'm excited for and how they went, things that annoy me, and, and they might turn into vents, I will try to not do that. I want to do character analyses. Mainly to practice media literacy and writing skills, but I also just ramble about certain topics and want a place to keep track of it.

I am completely new to blogposting, I am only really calling it a blog because that's the only descriptor I can think of for what I'm trying to do lol, the topics will vary a lot. It may be closer to a diary, but I want it to be public, and what website is complete without a blog lmfao.

Everything is dated as month/day/year.

FF7 Revelation demo

Word Count: 3286, Read Time: ~12-18 minutes

*note, the audio starts at "I need to.." idk why*

Lowkey this is just an excuse for me to yap about my fav thing rn. I need to write this out because I can't just keep it to myself istg. No one in my life gaf about Final Fantasy so this is the only thing I have be nice...I might do some analysis while just saying what I like and what I'm excited for. Top section is gonna be any type of analysis or things in the demo, after that I will just go over everything I am excited for if I didn't already mention it. Also there will be stuff from previous demos/trailers that I liked...I spent like 5 days writing this.

OH MY GOD THE NEW DEMO WAS CRAZY. I have very high expectations for the crater scene and so far it looks great. These demos have been feeding me while I wait for revelation, but it still is soso far away sob. Anyway the left are some pretty good videos of the demo and has most of the scenes I want to look at.

Something else about the demo too is that I do not know why some ppl are saying the fits look ugly... I think Barret's fit might be a lil over the top for the demo, the Nibelheim flashback specifically lol. He does look kinda out of place there. But the others look cute. I do not understand why ppl r hating sm. From what I know you can turn the fits off when using the FITS system so like...

Nibelheim

I REALLY want to talk about the Nibelheim flashback BADLY, so I will start with that. The scene makes perfect sense with the context of the original game and rebirth. The only thing I wish they kept in was Cloud only remembering Zack after/during the crater scene. But other than that, I liked how he did know and was going to tell Aerith, but was too late and now he's living with the fact he didn't get the chance to tell her he knew what happened to Zack and why he never returned to her.

I've seen some people asking, "Why is Barret in this scene?" Well, in the original we know you can choose the 3rd party member that goes with Cloud and Tifa to this scene. They either kept this feature, or purposefully chose to have Barret. In my opinion, it makes perfect sense that Barret would be that 3rd party member. Barret is the only other original person in the party along with Tifa, he is the one that hired Cloud in the first place. If you really think about it, Barret also learning that Cloud was never in SOLDIER, you know, probably a pretty big reason as to why Barret hired him, it would make him pretty upset. I think if it is a forced choice to use Barret in this scene, it would be a great chance to show his growth. If it was Barret in the beginning of remake, he would be absolutely furious that he thinks he was lied to and possibly even scammed, but the Barret in the end of rebirth and beginning of revelation has a much better relationship with Cloud. You can already see this by the tone of Barret's voice when he says, "First I'm hearing of this. Why didn't you tell us before?" He does sound upset, but not in an "I'm furious with you bc of this" way. He sounds much more concerned why he wasn't told this before. If you get to choose who is the 3rd party member, I think a lot of players would lose out on this piece of character development. I know I probably did in the og, I picked Vincent..

Talk about foreshadowing, but I love the little details where you can tell Tifa is hiding something from Cloud and the rest of the party. Like in the scene on the left the scene is focused on Cloud then switches it to Tifa. Her expressions are SCREAMING she is hiding some kind of important information. I love how these types of scenes only appear when Cloud is talking about how supposedly it was both him and Zack sent to handle the Nibelheim reactor. She truly cares so much about Cloud and knows if she says anything about how she has zero recollection of Cloud being at Nibelheim he would literally completely break down.

Before the Nibelheim flashback, I loved how Tifa protected Cloud whenever he was getting his headaches and snapping him out of them and bringing him back to reality. I love their relationship so freaking much they gen mean sm to me I can't wait to see more of them... ESP THE HIGHWIND SCENE!! I will talk more about them later...

Finally talking about Zack being here. I like that, since Cloud remembers Zack a little more now, he isn't immediately saying that what Sephiroth is showing him is fake. I'm interested and excited to see how SE makes the big reveal lol. Cloud talking about Zack here makes me so sad.. The way that he talks about Zack and the look on his face... I also cannot be the only one who noticed that the smile Cloud does in the photo is the exact same as when they zoom into Zack's face. Even Barret calls out how different he is there (he literally says he looks like a different person...), like Cloud looking that happy just seems so out of place. He is so right in this scene too, which again shows how much Barret and Cloud's relationship has grown. Such a small quick detail to show how it really was all just Zack here and Cloud is not remembering it correctly.

Character Interactions

I want to go through some of the character interactions from the main cast, there really aren't a lot of scenes between most of the cast, so I will probably be focusing on the same like 3. Most of them are gonna be Cloud, just because he got the most interactions and is yk like the main character so.. Starting with Cid and Yuffie. Something I liked in remake and rebirth is that they treated Yuffie as an actual child, because she is. Based on the tone of Cid's jap voice, it seems like this line is him teasing her. Calling out her misjudgement of him.

Something else I also liked was that this scene didn't only show Yuffie being childish, but it gives more of a look at how Cid is going to act. I know a lot of people, myself included, miss Cid's "rude" personality. Him in the new demo gives me much more of his og personality.

This is kinda small, but I am really glad that they introduced another character that was in SOLDIER. Broden is so similar to Cloud which is why Cloud remembers him so clearly when he sees Broden again. Broden becoming one of the black robes is exactly what Cloud fears he will become if Sephiroth wins him over. Cloud NEEDED another ex-SOLDIER present in the story to relate to and I will stand by that forever. Broden seemed like such a minor character in rebirth, simply being the owner of the inn and helping the party steer clear of Shinra. When we learn about him being an ex-SOLDIER, just like Cloud, that's suffering from degradation it sets it up for the rest of the story.

I NEED to talk about Tifa and Cloud more bro.. I also want to point this out because I found it kinda interesting, but at the beginning of the demo Cloud says that is anyone is feeling off then to say something. He's the only one that feels off during the demo, that we can tell, but he doesn't tell anyone other than saying something to Tifa. I really feel like this shows how he still is upholding that "I am strong I do not need your help" persona. Afterall, the whole reason he wanted to be in SOLDIER was to prove he wasn't weak and for Tifa to notice him.

This isn't really all that important, another small detail I saw and want to point out. But I love how we can see Tifa protecting Cloud after he gets a headache when seeing Broden. She at first gives him any time he might need to get back up on his own, but then she gives him a little push to get him back, which works immediately.

Sephiroth starts to use Tifa's voice to lure Cloud away from the party. Cloud trusts Tifa so this makes a lot of sense as to why it's specifically her, Sephiroth knew exactly who to use to get him alone. Cloud would never doubt that it actually is her which is why he doesn't stop to think at all. To be fair, he is desperate to try and get back, esp if now he knows they can't find him. Right before Sephiroth grabs him, he is unable to move and is relying on what he thinks is Tifa to come and save him. You can see that when Sephiroth pulls Cloud up, before he needs a second to process who he is looking at and since he is assuming it's Tifa, he looks relieved that she found him. :((

Tifa really was looking for him. She might have even been calling out for him but, if that's the case, then Sephiroth most likely distorted where he was hearing it. As soon as Tifa gets by the black robes, she rushes over and asks if he is okay. Even though Cloud says he's fine she pushes him to tell her why he doesn't look it. She looks genuinely worried and very trusting so Cloud does tell her, I'll be it, not the whole thing but yk.

This also can call back to a scene in rebirth where Cloud does say he will try to tell her when he's not feeling like himself anymore, which is why I think he ultimately did tell her. Cloud tells Tifa to not say anything, which is another indicator of him trusting her the most out of everyone. The thing he told her literally could have outed him as not truly being in SOLIDER, Tifa knows this already though. She wants to tell him so bad, but like I said already while I was talking about Nibelheim, if he finds out he will lose it.

Now I want to talk about Sephiroth and Cloud's interactions. I will say this now, everyone picking up any romantic sense from these scenes are straight idiots. They do not love each other. Sephiroth does not love Cloud, he is mentally torturing him. I would go so far as to say this is literal grooming and abuse. Grooming is not limited to gaining trust to receive sexual and/or romantic interaction with people. Sephiroth is manipulating Cloud into relying on him for the truth, and also just forcing him to obey him by literally taking over his mind, to get Cloud to do things like giving him the black materia and pushing Tifa into the lifestream. So anyway...sorry I just had to say I do not like sefikura, this is not a sefikura analysis...

Sephiroth starts to lure Cloud away from the rest of the group. He gets the black robes to make basically a barricade around him so the others can't find Cloud until Sephiroth is done with what he wanted to say. He makes sure no one interrupts him so Cloud feels more alone and isolated, like that Sephiroth is the only person with the answers he's looking for and the only one he can actually trust to tell the truth, it makes Cloud more reluctant to eventually kill and stop him while also making him more willing to do his bidding. Sephiroth lures him away by mimicking the person he trusts most, Tifa. This will make him start to stop trusting her because following her voice just led Cloud straight to Sephiroth.

The headache Cloud was having gets much worse and he can no longer move, he has to rely on whoever finds him first to help him, that person being Sephiroth. When Cloud sees him, he is completely shocked and if Sephiroth didn't start talking, then I believe Cloud would have tried to kill him like he did during the temple of the ancients trial. He was expecting Sephiroth to be violent so when he ended up pulling him into a hug and hooked him by saying he had something important to tell him. This whole time, Cloud looks genuinely horrified while Sephiroth looks proud of himself...Another question I have about this scene is whether or not this happened in real time. Like what if time basically stopped for a moment so Cloud could experience this and then snap right back. I hope this makes sense and you understand what I mean lol.

Sephiroth starts talking about the numbers. He points out how all the black robes, which are mostly former SOLDIERs, have numbers on one of their shoulders. All, but Cloud. Sephiroth starts making Cloud doubt his identity as a SOLDIER, but not for the right reason. Sephiroth isn't giving Cloud the correct information on what the numbers mean.

The numbers are not only for being a SOLDIER, they're for being experiments of Hojo during the Jenova Project where they attempted to clone Sephiroth after the Nibelheim reactor incident. A lot of SOLDIERs were apart of this, Cloud included, but Hojo only ever marked the "successful" ones. Sephiroth is leaving this out to manipulate Cloud. He is so vague about the numbers, he never says anything other than it's for SOLDIERs and that Cloud doesn't have one. This is enough to make Cloud to start doubting everything he once knew. But now, he can't kill Sephiroth, he has so many unanswered questions. If he keeps chasing Sephiroth for answers, eventually Sephiroth will gain control of him like how he did with the other black robes.

I believe Sephiroth easily could take over Cloud anytime he wanted, but since he has so much anger towards Cloud from the Nibelheim incident, he's making so much worse which eventually ends up with him losing to Cloud in the end. But I could be wrong, maybe doing all this is needed. We all know Cloud was already some kind of freak of nature when he survived being stabbed by Sephiroth in Nibelheim and somehow throwing Sephiroth off with the sword literally in him, so maybe that's what's stopping Sephiroth from just turning him into a black robe. Sephiroth also does need a strong person infected with Jenova cells to obtain everything he needs, which is also why he is keeping Cloud somewhat like his normal self, only tapping in when it will benefit him like when Cloud first got the black materia.

Stuff I'm excited for

Again, so far, the crater seems really good as of now. We have already seen some other clips of it, like Sephiroth I guess splitting the sky during the flashback which looks really cool and I'm glad they are gonna make Sephiroth look more in control of it all. I'm excited to see when Cloud gives him the black materia how it will go and if Shinra will show up, they better. Idk how they would do this scene without them, considering it was Hojo who tells Cloud what the numbers mean soo...But obviously they can't show them because that would spoil any players who haven't played og. I think they might have snown a bit much, I don't think they should've shown the Sephiroth scene where he suggests there is something about the numbers. That's like the only thing I have a problem with in the demo, is that they showed too much lol.

Another thing, with the fits system and stuff, I probably won't be using the new outfits for the characters, at least my first playthrough of the story. I want to experience it with the outfits they had in the other 2 games. If they add Cloud's advent children outfit, I am 100% using that in my endgame post story playing. His ac outfit is too tuff to not use at all bro. I also heard they will let you put skins on weapons, so you can have the stats of whatever weapon but make it appear as smt else. I am using the buster sword. I do not care, it is lore accurate and I was so sad changing it in remake and rebirth. I remember delaying putting a new weapon on Cloud my first time playing remake. His sword is so iconic I know the whole point of rpgs is like to collect new more powerful weapons but idk man..I would rather it just be upgrades. Not saying any weapon you get during the game is bad, they all look cool. I really like the Igneous Saber on Cloud. Cloud's weapon is honestly the only one I really care about since you will be looking at it like the whole game.

I am so excited to play as Vincent and Cid. I will finally have my team from the og game (Cloud, Tifa, Vincent). Vincent's gameplay looks really good, and I'm excited for Cid party leader. You can see in another demo, they kept Cid's og run which looks really funny lol. We can also see Yuffie party leader, which is very interesting. Most likely we are playing as her during the Wutai segment. The party leader I'm most excited for, is obviously Tifa. The whole sequence of escaping Shinra and avoiding Tifa's execution is really cool, I am so excited for that. Can't wait to slap Scarlet lol!

As excited as I am about new party leaders, I will miss being Cloud when he's in Mideel. Especially when Tifa gets there like broo... There goes 75% of my team. I already know I'm going to be using Vincent, Yuffie, and most likely Cid as my new one though. Also, it seems like the Wutai segment is going to be without Cloud and Tifa. That is so sad, but it makes sense. They would be able to fit it in perfectly there, it would give Tifa and Cloud time in Mideel. I am excited for Mideel though, I feel like I'm talking so negatively about it since I would be losing 75% of my team, but I am excited for it really.

The thing I am most excited for is Zack and Aerith reunion. Bro, that scene they showed in the trailer, I am 100% gonna cry, I cried when Zack died and it showed Aerith realizing. And they can't be happy for long because of meteor. Zack won't be able to stop Sephiroth from Midgar so they are just straight up doomed, AGAIN. While on the topic about ships, I want to say, they better not screw the lifestream scene up. That also made me cry, I think I just cry too much at videogames but whatever. It would be interesting if they added more memories to it too, because they already showed the scene where Tifa falls off the bridge in the Gongaga reactor. They might show it more from Cloud's perspective if they keep it. The director said he thinks they got it right, so it better not be bad.

Yeah, so that's like what I'm excited for and stuff. UHHH I hope you liked reading this, if you even finished it. I doubt most people will be reading through this whole thing, but whatever I did for myself.
